    Our FlairBadges

At Edisford, our Key Stage 1 children take part in a unique programme called ‘Flairs’.

To have a flair for something means to do it well. We believe this comes not just from talent, but from key personal qualities: persistencegetting alongorganisationresilience, and confidence.

Our bespoke Flairs curriculum helps children develop these skills through small-group learning. With groups of just ten, each child has access to quality resources, focused instruction, and the chance to fully participate.

For example, Flair for Music helps children build confidence through regular performances. They develop persistence and resilience by learning to play instruments and read music, and practise teamwork through group composition and musical appreciation.

Similarly, Flair for Gastronomy gives children hands-on experience with cooking. Working individually or in pairs, they learn practical skills, build independence, and enjoy the process of learning through doing. We also have Flair for Performing Arts, French, Communication and Textiles.

We are very proud of our Flairs programme. It’s a highlight of the week, and children are always eager to take part.
